The Supporting Arts grant program provides unrestricted funding to help support Connecticut's arts organizations and municipal arts departments as they pursue their mission. This type of grant is flexible rather than for specific projects or programs and gives the grantee the ability to use New London, CT – The Connecticut Storytelling Center, in residence at Connecticut College, New London, celebrates its 35th Annual Storytelling Festival and Conference April 29-30th at College Center at Crozier Williams on the campus. The Friday/Saturday event (plus informal story swapping on Sunday morning at the Clarion Hotel) offers storytelling concerts and workshops on storytelling art and technique for the public, educators and historians. “History and Your Story” is the theme. Donating food and money to local food pantries has become a key funding initiative for Charter Oak. This past December, the credit union donated $34,000 to local food pantries in an effort to help them restock their pantry shelves after the busy holiday season. Each food pantry received an unsolicited Waterford, CT – December 22, 2014 – Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has approved all eight of its fourth quarter grant requests, totaling $16,500.
Recipients include the American Red Cross; The Connecticut Radio Information System, Inc.; Connecticut Storytelling Center, Inc.; Eugene O’Neill Theater Center; New London Community Orchestra, Inc.; New London Youth Affairs; Safe Futures, Inc.; and Striving Towards Empowered Personal Success, Inc
